Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Sharon Kay "Sherry" Greer Carrington of Beckley was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 11, 2016 in the comfort of her home while being taken care of by her loving family.

Sharon was born on September 28, 1957, the daughter of the late Thomas "Buster" and Lois Evelyn Greer of Beckley.

Known to family and friends as "Sherry" she was a homemaker and a child daycare provider. She loved making things in her spare time, especially on holidays. She also was the lead singer of The Gospel Reunion and loved what she did dearly spreading her Testimonies. Sharon was a member of Pastor Michael and Deborah McCray at St. Luke Church of God Apostolic.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Stone and Theodus Edward "Bunchie" Greer.

Left to cherish her beautiful and precious memories are her husband, Charles Carrington; her very loving children, Juwan "JuJu" Greer (Teresa Grant Greer), Anissa "Lori" Greer- Smith (Marshall Smith) and Wesley Townes, all of Beckley; her loving brothers, Eddie Hustle Drafton, Timothy "Tim" Greer (Toni) and Terrance Kevin Greer (Pynia), all of Beckley; Sharon's God siblings, Tina Burs, Bishop Thomas Murray Jr., Kathy Murray-Burs, and Stacy Murray-Burs; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her last wishes to her children were to never give up! Her favorite quote to all was "Peace" "Let there be Peace".

A memorial service celebrating Sharon's life will be 12 noon, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 770 S. Fayette Street, Beckley, WV with Bishop Thomas Murray Jr., Pastor Keith Walker, and Pastor Debra McCray officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
