Obituary For Mrs. Tressie Hardy

Tressie Hardy, of Harvey, West Virginia went to her eternal rest on August 9, 2015 at home following a long illness.

Born on August 11, 1949 to the late Richard Arnold Pankey and Elenor Ruth Woodson Pankey of Oak Hill, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty (Jenkins) Fulton.

She accepted Christ on September 1, 1962 under the pastorship of Reverend A.L. Simms. She was an active member of Harvey Missionary Baptist Church and loved church and her church family.

Tressie graduated from Mount Hope High School in 1967 and moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she gained employment at Chase Manhattan Bank. Upon returning to West Virginia In 1975, she was employed in management by Wal-Mart, retiring after 20 years of service in 2005.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her husband, Grover Hardy; two daughters, Babi (Tyrone) Panky-David of Zephyrhills, Florida and Leila (Bredrick) Bussey of Minot, North Dakota; her beloved grandchildren, Monterra Evans, Nakia Smith and Tobias (Prince) Bussey; great grandson, Amari Evans. five brothers: Michael (Betty) Pankey, Irvin Pankey and Robert (Rita) Pankey, all of Maryland, Russell Pankey of Winston Salem, North Carolina and David Pankey of Brooklyn, New York; five sisters, Norma Braxton of Harvey, West Virginia, Christy Pankey of Oak Hill, West Virginia, Christine (Percy) Williams of Southfield, Michigan, Sharain Pankey and Candice Pankey, both of Beckley, West Virginia; one special aunt, Christina Johnson of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2015 at Hilltop Baptist Center, 258 Baptist Road, Hilltop WV. 25855. with Reverend William Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the Baptist Center, with the family receiving friends from 1:00-2:00PM.
