Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Vernita V. Laster aka ôThe Queenö, 68, of Beckley died Sunday, December 13, 2015.

Born December 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James Otis and Selena Wright.

Mrs. Laster was a member of St. Paul Baptist Temple, Beckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Otis ôButchö Wright; sisters, Deborah Bachelor and Arlena Nadine Wright Carey.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her husband, William A. Laster Sr.; sons, Steffen Wright and William A. ôBahbooö Laster Jr.: daughter Angelique A. ôAngelö Laster; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Lonella C. ôNellö (Pastor Walter) Leach and Cynthia Ann (Thomas) Taylor; brother, Bernard Amar; aunt, Arlena ôPennyö Winston of Christiansburg, VA; special nephew, Walter ôLil Waltö Leach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 AM, Monday, December21, 2015 at St. Paul Baptist Temple, 129 Rice Street, Beckley, with Reverend Walter M. Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
