Obituary For Mrs. Violet Ann Dow Green

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Violet Green, who passed away at home on April 14, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by family.

Violet was born on June 3, 1942, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Lawrence and Marie Dow. She graduated from Stratton High School, where she built lifelong friendships and laid the foundation for a life rooted in faith and community.

Violet joined Central Baptist Church in Beckley, where she was baptized at a young age. After relocating to Decatur, Georgia, her faith remained a guiding force in her life as she became a devoted member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully served as an usher with the James Freeman Usher Board, the 5th District Usher Health Ministry, and the National Baptist Ushers Ministry. Through her service, she welcomed others with kindness and grace, making everyone feel seen and valued.

To know Violet was to experience a genuine being and vibrant spirit that truly loved life. She had a special gift for bringing people together and uplifting those around her, leaving a lasting impact on her church family, friends, and loved ones. She found immense joy in staying active, especially through her love of shopping and bowling—a pastime that brought her laughter, friendship, and many cherished memories.

Violet was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Her life stands as a testament to love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will be forever cherished.

The family of Violet Green wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the many acts of kindness, prayers, love, and support shown during this time of bereavement. Every call, message, and act of kindness has meant more than words can express. Your presence and compassion have truly lifted our spirits. We are forever thankful.

Committal service will be1:00PM Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr. Prosperity.

Friends may view and visit with the family from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral parlor.
