Mrs. Virginia Moore Ward, 95, of Beckley, formerly of Detroit, MI died Wednesday, June 20, 2018.

Born February 23, 1923 in Mt. Airy, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Strickland Moore.

She attended Byrd Prillerman High School, met and married the late Charlie June Ward and moved of Detroit, MI.

After retiring from Stouffers, she returned to Beckley and became a member of Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by husband, Charlie June Ward, her parents, step-father, Charlie Moore; brothers, Algie, Samuel, Jayvon and Howard; sisters, Helen, Revella, Inez and Vergie.

Left to cherish precious memories are her sisters, Louise Hall, Esther (deceased, June 25, 2018) (Louis) Motley and Delores Robinson, Maxine (Jimmy) Motley; brother, Charles (Evelyn) Moore; brother-in law, George (Blanch) Moose; sisters-in law, Delores Moore and Thelma Ward Cook and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Monday, July 2, 2018 at St. Paul Baptist Temple, 129 Rice St., Beckley with Rev. Walter Leach officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
