Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Ms. Alline Pryor, 75, formerly of Beckley, WV passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at White Sulphur Springs Center, White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Alline was born October 9, 1947, in Roanoke, VA, the daughter of the late Joseph Lee and Lorraine White

Alline was employed by Jackie Withrow Hospital formerly known as Pinecrest during her Employment. She worked in dietary department.

Alline moved to WV at an early age and lived the greatest portion of her life in East Park, Beckley. The family gave her the nickname “Spunky” which fit her well. She had a great love of people. Often after retirement she would love to sit uptown in the park on the bench and socialize with the people or merely enjoy God’s nature.

Spunky was a child of God; She was a faithful member of the Salvation Army Church on Fayette St. When she couldn’t go to church anymore, she enjoyed watching the late Charles Stanley.

Alline, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny and Laddie Lee.

Spunky leaves to cherish her fond memories her sons, James Pryor (Kimberlen) of Reidsville, NC, Iran Pryor (Keysha) of Greensboro, NC and Stacey Pryor of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Samantha Pryor of Reidsville, NC; granddaughters, Elexas Pryor of Reidsville, NC, Nautica Pryor-KY, and Destiny Pryor-Harper of AZ; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Charlene Henderson (Clyde) of Alexandria, VA and Lisa Royal of Far Rockaway, NY and a multitude of extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Monday, May 15, 2023 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Rev. Thomas Ray Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family thirty minutes prior.
