Obituary For Ms. Deloris Ann Howard
Your wings were ready, our hearts were not. On Saturday, August 6, 2022 as angels of grace and mercy entered Atrium Health Navicent the Medical Center and ushered Deloris Ann Howard victoriously into His Kingdom.
Deloris "Lo" was born on March 12, 1952 in Carlisle, WV to the late Joseph and Rebecca “Becky” Munger.
Deloris was a member of the United States Air Force. This career enabled her to live in Germany and Italy. She completed her career at Warner Robins, GA Air Force Base as a Civilian Service employee.
Deloris was an active and faithful member of Fellowship Bible Baptist Church.
We will always remember “Lo” as a fashion Diva, even in her choice of vehicles, Mercedes Benz! Her family and friends loved to hear her hearty laugh and see her beautiful smile. She was a fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Washington Commanders football teams. Everyone knew not to call her during the games! We could always count on her to get things started especially for our family events and celebrations!
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend.
Deloris was preceded in death by her loving parents, Joseph and Rebecca; brothers, Percy and William; sisters, Doris, Jacqueline, and Debra; stepbrothers, Joseph Jr. (Virginia), James (Hattye), and Neal (Sarah); stepsister, Mary and Deloris’ son, Eric.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories her siblings, Brenda of NY; Michael of WV and Darryl Munger (Tikiya] of NJ; loving children, daughter, Alicia of TN; sons, Samuel N. Lawson Jr. of MI and Kent C. Brunner Jr. of GA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church 7065 Okey L Patterson Rd. Carlisle with Pastor Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior.
