Dee Dee was often the life of the party, always standing by with a quick one-liner. After high school she attended West Virginia Institute of Technology. Dee Dee began her career in telecommunications at AT&T in Charleston, WV.

"I never lost my hope. I never lost my joy. I never lost my praise." Dee Dee and I always ended our conversations with that saying. Oh how she loved God,family, and friend in that order. She would do anything to help you and it always had to be perfect. I remember her making a wedding cake. She threw me out of the kitchen and locked the door because she was on a mission.I Can still see her beautiful smile. Her greatest love in life was her son,Chase. She was and is so proud of him. As long as we keep speaking her name, she will never be forgotten. Dee Dee. We will carry you in our hearts until we meet again.

"I never lost my hope. I never lost my joy and I never lost my praise.". Dee Dee and I made that one of our life statements. We always talked about the blessings that came out of cancer and she knew her God had healed her. She was an old spirit in a young persons body. There was no such word as failure in her vocabulary. If it could be done, she was going to do it. I remember the time she was making a wedding cake and threw me out of the kitchen because time was running out and as she said "This has got to be just right." Her love of God,family, friends and community ran deep. Chase you are the love of her life and never, never, never forget it! Each one of us will continue to carry a piece of her in our heart . As we await our next gathering with her, we speak her name, Dee Dee Brown.

My heart hurts. But i must take peace in my cuz my sistar my friend, is resting in the bosom of Jesus. I send my deepest sympathies to my family. Dee Dee was one of a kind straight no chaser. She kept me grounded. Our last conversation she simply called to tell me she loved me. I will never forget that and will be forever honored that she took time out of her day to let me know that we are bonded for life.

Dee Dee and I met back when I was attending college at West Virginia State College in 1988. We met through a mutual friend named Preston Carroll, who was attending West Virginia Institute of Technology at the time. Dee Dee was such a nice, warm, loving and giving individual. She would give you her shirt right off of her back and walk around shirtless if she had to. I will always remember all the good times we had together with other friends back in my college days. We were there for one another and called each other Sis. God has definitely called one of his angels home! Dee Dee will live in my heart forever and will never be forgotten. I'll love her always. Rest In Peace, my dear sister. Sincerely, Kathy Y. (Robinson) Dieuveuil
