Obituary For Ms. Eula Clarice "Deedie" Robinson

Eula Clarice "Deedie" Robinson, 82, transitioned peacefully at Stonerise Healthcare Facility to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 following a long illness. Deedie, as she was called, was born on July 16, 1939 in Covington, VA to the late William Robinson and Gladys Mae Penn Robinson-Redman.

Deedie spent her younger years in Cranberry, West Virginia where she attended school. She later moved to Skelton, West Virginia and resided with her mother. She was of the Baptist faith. Deedie was a quiet and soft spoken individual who could be seen walking to her destination most of the time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joann Davis and Mary Virginia Smith and brothers, William Robinson, Jr. and Charles Raymond Robinson.

She loved her two children, Fred " Pookie", (as she called her son) and her daughter, Deborah "D.R." and was adored by all of her nieces and nephews.

Although her health began to fail and limit her mobility, her memory was forever faithful as she always knew who you were upon visits to Stonerise and would reminisce about old times, old acquaintances and family members. Deedie made many friends among the residents and staff at Stonerise, but some days, “she just wanted to be left alone.” She truly enjoyed getting her nails polished as she relaxed in her bed. Deedie didn’t show much emotion but you could sense her excitement when her daughter, son and grandchildren would make a surprise visit from Myrtle Beach. COVID limited a lot of visitation but they were always in contact with health services regarding her condition.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Fred " Redbone" Robinson of Myrtle Beach, SC and grandchildren, Alexandria, Adam, Ryan, and Brian; daughter, Deborah “D.R.” McCombs and husband, Tommie of Myrtle Beach, SC and their son, Thomas; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Montgomery of Beckley and brother, Sherman Beasley of Mt. Hope; aunts, uncles, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view one hour prior to the service.
