Obituary For Ms. Julia Lee Edwards King

Mrs. Julia Lee Edwards King, 75, of Beckley, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Mrs. Julia was born January 22, 1950 in Northfork, WV, she was the daughter of the late James and Allise Edwards.

Mrs. Julia was a member of Little Rock Church in Northfork and a current member of Word of Truth in Beckley. She was a wonderful homemaker, loving cook and could clean like no ones business. She spent many years as a cook at Bob Evans. After she retired you could find her doing some type of work in the House of The Lord.

Mrs. Julia, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, George King Sr.; son, William “Ralphie” King; special loving brother, James “Jimmy” Edwards; brothers, Bobby Edwards, Ralph Edwards; sister; best friend, Patsy.

Mrs. Julia leaves to cherish precious memories her children, George “Georgie” King II of Beckley, Victoria “Vicky” (Darnell) Ziglar of Winston-Salem, NC, Dianne King of Roanoke, VA; special daughter, Shawana (William) Alexander of Beckley, WV; brother, Robert Lee (Janice) Edwards of Detroit, MI; sister, Mary Watkins of Bluefield, WV; grandchildren, Raeshawna King (Phillip Copney) of Beckley, WV, William King (Jada Morrow) of Beckley, WV, Michael Evans of GA, Jade King of NC, Hannah King of Morgantown, WV, George “Bro Bro” King of Beckley, WV, Gyanna “GiGi” King of Beckley, WV, Faith Alexander of Beckley, WV; great-grandchildren, Rae’Lynn King and Amari King, both of Beckley, WV; special friend, Sharon Hairston and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, March 28, 2025 at Word of Truth COGIC 911 Terrill St. Beckley with Pastor Sandra Jackson officiating. Burial will follow Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.

My condolences to the family of Mrs. Julia King, my sister-in-law who called me to let me know that she was hospitalized and had been for a month. She said to me that she heard that she would be going home on Tuesday, the 18th of March, God called her to her heavenly home.. I will miss her but God's word says "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." I believe she's in a better place.
