Obituary For Ms. Krystal De’Ann Shepard

Ms. Krystal De’Ann Shepard of Beckley, WV was called to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at age of 41.

Krystal was born June 6, 1982 in Beckley, WV to her loving parents Jimmie Shepard of Beckley, WV and the late Queen Shepard.

Krystal grew up as a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Tams, WV.

Krystal attended Crescent Elementary School and Park Junior High. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and ACT in 2001.

Krystal, after high school, attended and graduated from Beckley Beauty Academy and then worked at J.C Penney Salon as a management cosmetologist. Before accepting a position at Rite Aid, she was a devoted Customer Service Representative, for which she served over 17 years, gracing hundreds of people with her loving personality and infectious smile. She later worked at Walgreens as a Key Supervisor for 3plus years.

Krystal was a proud and devoted mother to her only son, Kayden.

Krystal, in addition to her father, leaves cherished memories to her son, Kayden Anderson; life partner, Roger Anderson; siblings, Greg (Tiana) Lavender, Jimineice (Marcus) Harbison, Ivory (Eric) Shepard, Eric Morris, Crystale (Ira) Clements and Donna Medley; uncles, Michael Shepard and Elmer (Patricia) Goins; aunts, Shelia Kroon, Cynthia Stevenson and Tammy Goins.

Krystal, in addition to her beloved and devoted mother, Queen Shepard, she was preceded in death her grandparents, Ivory (Theodore) Lavender and Jean Leron McNeil, Jimmie Shepard Sr.; uncles, Theodore Goins, James Henry Lavender and David Shepard; aunts, Linda Floyd, Ann Stevenson, Trina Stevenson and Renee` Shepard.

Krystal was a fun loving and adoring Auntie to all her many nieces and nephews. She had host of cousins whom she loved as well as friends and associates. She will be sorely missed.

May her light continue to shine on us in this time of grief.

Family directed memorial service will be 3:00PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025
Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.

    Krystal and I were not only neighbors we were best friends. So many great memories. Her nick name Light perfect name for such a beautiful soul. She definitely was a light and to whomever was blessed to know her has seen that light. She will be missed greatly and my prayers are with her family love you all ❤️

    It's difficult to find words to express our love and heartbreak for the Shepard family.Queenie and Krystal played such an essential and intricate part in the care of my daughter Layla.
