Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Ms. Marion Evangeline Scruggs 64, of Mt. Hope died Friday, June 2, 2017.

Born July 14, 1952 in Oak Hill, she was the daughter of Marion Scruggs of Cleveland, OH and the late Odessa Adkins Scruggs.

Marion was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hope and Faith Scruggs, Fran Allen and Paula Hurd and niece, Tomeka Scruggs Walker.

In addition to her father, left to cherish precious memories are her daughter, Monica Scruggs Smith of Beckley; granddaughters, Tkeyah and Indyah Smith and great-grandson, Blake Goddard all of Beckley; brothers, Landon Scruggs of Oak Hill, Keith Scruggs of NY, William, and Marlon Hurd, both of Ohio; sisters, Thelma Scruggs of NY, Debra Allen and Joberta Allen, both of Mt. Hope, Danna Hurd-Cartwright and Donna Hurd, both of Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Glorious Church of God in Christ, 421 Main St. Mt. Hope, WV with Minister Mike Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Highlawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
