Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Ms. Rita Ann Belcher was born February 27, 1958, in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV, to the late Raymond J Belcher Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Belcher.

Rita transitioned this life on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

Rita gave her life to Christ at the age of 13, at Ebenezer Baptist Church and was baptized by, Rev. Corey Mitchell, who was her Pastor. At Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rita sung in the children’s choir, assisted in the Children’s Ministry by teaching arts and crafts and having the children sell them at The Crossroads Mall to earn money for group trips. She also served wherever there was a need in the Kitchen Ministry of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Rita was currently a member of Faith Temple of Deliverance Church, where her pastor was Bishop Bobby Tunstalle.

Rita was a 1976 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.

Rita worked in the restaurant industry for many years, she was employed by K&W, Cracker Barrell, Texas Steak House, Ponderosa Steak House, and ended her career with Kohl’s Department Store.

Rita, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by siblings, Daniel Frazier Jr., Dennis Frazier, Raymond Belcher Jr., Benita Belcher-Foy-Stembridge, Eric Belcher, Petrina Belcher-Randall, Joe
Belcher, and Vincent Belcher.

Rita leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Victor and Sean Belcher; three grandchildren, Drake, Lando, and Atiyyaat; two step-grandchildren, Jordan and Jahden; sisters, Donna (Gary) Belcher-Swift of LA, Cheryl Belcher of WV, Vanessa Belcher-Grandy of MD and brother, Donald Frazier of Wheeling, WV and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Faith Temple of Deliverance 119 Deegans St. Beckley. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
