Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Ms. Shannon Dominique Pinson, also known as “Shay Shay”, 27, passed away on February 26, 2021 from an unexpected illness. Shannon was born in Beckley, West Virginia on July 17, 1993, to Tara Thornton-Pinson and the late Michael Pinson. Shannon attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, Clara and Joe Thornton, Aunt Helen Smith, and Uncle Carl Thornton. Shannon is survived by her loving mother, Tara Thornton-Pinson. Who cared for her unconditionally while showing her the love of God through her kind acts and compassion she showed. Shannon was a very intelligent person. She had a special gift with technology and dreamed of becoming a writer. With her whit and talent, she could tell such a captivating story while having a sense of humor. Shannon will truly be missed, and we will cherish the 27 years God Blessed us with her presence.

Shannon leaves to cherish her memory along with her Mother, a host of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. In the words of her mother, Tara “We shall meet again! Until We Meet Again, You will forever be in my heart! Love Momma

As per her request, she has been cremated.

Memorial service will be 12:00PM Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church 141 New Guinea Ave., Stanaford.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Repast will follow in the dining hall.
