Obituary For Ms. Shirley Mae Alexander

Ms. Shirley Mae Alexander, of Beckley, WV passed peacefully March 2, 2026 at CAMC General Division, due to a short illness.

Shirley was born March 8, 1955, to the late Eva Mae Harris of Amigo WV and Herman Bolen of Fireco, WV.

Shirley graduated from Stoco High School in 1973. While living in Rhodell, WV, Shirley worked at Mullens Hospital and was a beloved homemaker and friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Shirley, while in Rhodell, was a member of First Baptist Church of Rhodell, where she was a member of the choir. Upon moving to Beckley, she became a member of Faith Temple of Deliverance TPC.

Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Mae Harris; father, Herman Bolen and brother, Eugene Johnson.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories to her daughter, Gwendolyn Alexander (Tony) of Beckley, WV; son, William Alexander of Beckley, WV; grandsons, Jalen Alexander of Beckley, WV, Noah Alexander of Beckley, WV, and Izaiah Morris of Beckley, WV; granddaughters, Destiny Hughes of Charleston, WV and Sumer Alexander (Christopher) of OH; great-grandchildren, Jordayn Grant, Kyrin Jones, Ky’Aire Porter, Elijah Hughes, Amilliana Brown, and Azir Brown; niece Tonya Alexander of Charleston, WV; nephews, Delano Alexander of Charleston WV and Ronald Alexander of Beckley, WV; a host of grandnieces and nephews; relatives in Dayton, OH including her cousin, Joette Williams.

As per her request, she has been cremated.

Family directed memorial service will be 12:00PM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Faith Temple of Deliverance 119 Deegans St. Beckley, WV.

Friends may visit with the family one-hour prior.
