Obituary For Pastor Clinton C. Van Horn Jr.
Pastor Clinton C. Van Horn, Jr., 55, finished his race here on earth Friday, September 24, 2021.
He was a loving son, sibling, husband, father, pastor and friend.
Clint moved to WV in 2002 to establish Living Water Church International, (Beckley, WV) and he was also co-owner and operator of Now Corporation, Inc. (brick masonry) with his wife. He enjoyed spending time with God, his family, sharing the gospel, and being near the ocean or river. He was even known to some as the “Donut Shop Pastor” because of the time he spent sharing the gospel at the local donut shop. It was his lifelong mission to share the gospel with people of all nations and to make sure that no one leaves this earthly life without having accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
He is survived by parents, Clinton Sr. and Sarah Van Horn; wife, Aretha (Gaye Franklin) Van Horn; children, Clinton Van Horn III, Sarah (Tannor) Decker and Angela Van Horn ;siblings, Brad (Debbie) Van Horn, David Van Horn, and Latonia Van Horn and a whole host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and church family.
1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 and 53-58 1) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures...
53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
As per his request he has been cremated.
Memorial service will be 2:00PM Saturday October 2, 2021 at Calloway Heights Baptist Church 132 Rural Acres Dr. Beckley with Pastor Perrie Sanders officiating.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
If you have accepted Christ as your Savior, continue to faithfully run the race. If you have not accepted Christ, please take the time to read the Word, learn of His love, and accept Him as your Savior.
